Yixing Zisha Teapot 330cc – Purple Clay – Monkey – Tree Stump
Some pots are bought for the shelf. This one will end up on the tea table. The tree stump reads even better in person than in the photos. A 330cc capacity puts it squarely in the range for small gatherings of two or three.
Made from purple clay that seasons beautifully with regular use. The porous body breathes, which is why these pots improve with age. Spout, handle, and body are balanced so the pot feels right when full. What I like: walls hold heat well through multiple steepings. It turns out a quick warm-up rinse before brewing keeps the temperature stable. Subtle tool marks up close are the signature of hand finishing. Look closely and it is a working pot, not a museum piece — brew in it daily.
It arrives as pictured — no surprises, just a good teapot. It will not be the last teapot you buy, but it may become the favorite.
